The advanced optical system on the WUX5000 allows the projector to virtually maintain a constant level of brightness throughout its 1.8x zoom range – a unique feature that provides both flexible projector placement and value by eliminating the need to over-specify a higher lumen projector for longer throw applications.
The WUX500 is HDBaseT™ compatible and is equipped with many leading industry interfaces including HDMI, DVI-I, USB, RJ-45, and RS-232C. Built-in network management is possible via PJLink™, and compatibility with Crestron & AMX systems ensure the REALiS WUX500 will seamlessly integrate into virtually any system infrastructure.
Other key functions include 4-point Keystone Correction, built-in Edge Blending, PC-Free Multi Projection (JPEG only), significant Vertical Lens Shift (0–60%), Picture by Picture, Network Multi Projection (NMPJ) over Wi-Fi®, PC-Free Presentations, and other features enabling installation versatility, advanced image adjustments and professional calibration settings.
Users will also enjoy greater installation flexibility thanks to its compact size and weight (13 lbs.) and variety of mounting options. A 12,000 hour life filter simplifies maintenance, and low power consumption makes the Canon REALiS WUX500 the perfect partner for a range of markets including corporate, higher education, museums, simulation, training, houses of worship, digital signage, and other professional markets.

5000 Lumens with up to 2000:1 Contrast Ratio
This projector projects bright 5000 lumen*1 images with up to a 2000:1 contrast ratio that helps ensure deep blacks, bright whites and outstanding color. The results are images with crisp depth and dimension, and amazing color accuracy, which is critical to those with discerning needs.
Native WUXGA Resolution (1920 x 1200)
Canon's WUXGA resolution brings bright, true widescreen display of intricately detailed HD video content and still images with outstanding color richness to large-room installations in high resolution WUXGA (1920 x 1200) at a competitive price. Content is projected without compression. Widescreen graphics, text and other visual content from laptops and desktop computers are shown in accurate proportions, just as it appears on most monitor screens.
LCOS Technology with AISYS-enhancement
The exceptional imaging performance of this projector starts with Canon's proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine, which utilizes advanced light management technology to maximize the contrast and brightness benefits of the projector's LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display panels, which deliver superior reflectivity and durability while accomplishing high luminance. The result is highly detailed, seamless, ultra-sharp image projection in virtually any environment.
Genuine Canon Optics with Constant Brightness throughout 1.8x Zoom Range
Drawing on Canon’s advanced optical expertise, this projector utilizes Genuine Canon Optics to project high-quality, virtually distortion-free images. Featuring a consistent F-Stop equivalent of F2.8, makes it possible to virtually maintain brightness throughout the zoom range with virtually no light loss, helping to maximize performance with installation flexibility.
These advanced designed optics employ dual-sided aspherical lens elements and Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) lens elements that significantly reduce chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare. This produces sharper, clearer images. The innovative optical system design also minimizes the total size of the optical system, enabling this projector to be smaller in size than other comparable systems.
Installation Versatility with Lens Shift, 360-degree Vertical Installation*2, 4-point Keystone Correction and More Install-Friendly Functions
This projector creates high resolution images within an incredibly compact projector size. The innovative AISYS Optical Engine makes this possible by independently controlling light in both vertical and horizontal directions to achieve both high brightness and contrast. Combined with the small size of the LCOS panels (just 0.76 inches), the projector is incredibly compact while delivering outstanding performance. At a height of 5.3 inches, width of 13.2 inches and weight of 13 pounds, it’s small and light enough to fit in a variety of spaces.
4-point Keystone Correction
The Canon REALiS WUX500 features 4-point independent Keystone Correction that has been added to the WUX500 giving the user the ability to adjust corners with precise accuracy. Furthermore, it allows the corners of the image to be independently adjusted to help ensure optimal image reproduction.
Manual Lens Shift
Manual lens shift makes it possible to adjust the image without digital distortion. The lens can be adjusted in both vertical and horizontal directions. Maximum lens shift is 0% - 60% vertical, +-10% horizontal.
Advanced Professional Calibration Settings including Edge Blending and PC-Free Multi Projection (JPEG only)
The Edge Blending function enables the user to combine multiple images to create a seamless projection. Advanced functions allow for color blending and black level adjustments to maximize image quality.
PC-Free Multi Projection
Multi-Projection: Up to nine REALiS WUX500s can be networked together to project one full image without the use of a computer. This is accomplished by setting one projector as a “master” and all others as “slaves”. The “master” projector reads the JPEG image that is input via the USB port and then distributes the information to the other projectors. Finally, all projectors work together to display a complete image.

This projector is equipped with a built-in HDBaseT™ receiver facilitating uncompressed HD video, audio and control signals to be transmitted over one single LAN cable with a maximum distance of 100m. This reduces complex wiring schemes used for a typical setup as well as maximizing long cable runs with minimal image quality degradation.
HDBaseT™ operation may vary when connected to other third-party HDBaseT™ devices. Please consult with a Canon representative for a full compatibility list.
Network Multi Projection (NMPJ) over Wi-Fi
NMPJ (Network Multi Projection) With Wi-Fi
Network Multi Projection (NMPJ) is a function that projects video data from computers via a network. It offers a range of applications from a simple point-to-point direct connection to connecting multiple projectors to a number of computers. The Canon REALiS WUX500 is equipped with Wi-Fi, which utilizes two modes of connection. The Projector Access Point mode allows users to directly connect up to five computers wirelessly. The Infrastructure mode enables the REALiS WUX500 to connect to an existing network wirelessly, computers on this network (wirelessly or wired) are now connected and can start projecting by utilizing NMPJ function. There are 4 NMPJ modes to choose from:
Direct Mode: In this mode the user can connect directly to the projector using a network cable or can connect directly to the network where the projector is located. The user can connect 1 PC and use 1 projector.
Meeting Mode: This mode is for sharing materials among all meeting attendees. It also enables remote operation and sharing via the internet between bases in different locations. The benefit of this mode is that each PC can select multiple projectors as projector operation is enabled from each PC. This mode allows the user to connect up to 10 PCs and 6 projectors.
Classroom Mode: The instructor can decide which attendee PCs will connect with which projectors and can switch the attendee projections as the class progresses. The benefit of this mode is that one PC (instructor) selects which PCs (students) to project from and controls the projectors. Certain operations are enabled from the client PCs (students), however they're limited. In this mode the user can connect up to 10 PCs and 6 projectors.
Broadcast Mode: This mode enables one PC to connect up to 12 projectors.
Directly connect a PC and the projector
Share content from a number of sources
Master PC leads the session by selecting which PCs to project from and controlling the projector
Broadcast the same image to multiple projectors
Low Power Consumption and Simplified Maintenance
Low Power Consumption and Simplified Maintenance
This projector uses a relatively low amount of power per lumen. It offers multiple power-management settings that allow the user to preset stand-by durations, execute power operations and auto-assign functions to the power button.
The design of this projector also allows for simplified maintenance – air filters and the projection lamp can be replaced while the projector remains ceiling mounted without having to uninstall.
*2 When standing the projector straight up or down, lamp life may be shortened.
